Britax Boulevard 70-G3 Convertible Car Seat, Onyx (Baby Product) Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) We have the older version of this car seat, the Boulevard 50 as well, so this review will mostly be about the improvements that have been made in the generations after our first one.The biggest change is that you can pull a handle on the top and easily slide the top straps + head protection up/down. No more unhooking straps and having to pull the cover off to do it. Just grab the handle and lift. This means you also get a head insert piece that moves up and down as well. Was worried it would hinder my daughter from seeing as much, but it didn't seem to. Although because there isn't as far to lay your head own, she doesn't like to go asleep in it as easily. However safety wise I think this is a huge step forward. The other major change is the cell based plastic bars on the top clip. This allows for pressure to be dispersed, and the clips from sliding around. It's a bit tougher to get arms in, but easier to adjust, and my guess is quite a bit safer. The only other change i've noticed so far is that the cushion piece that protects the bottom clip 'receiver', now is hooked all the way down, so it can't easily fall off. On the last model it fell off quite a bit, and was kind of annoying to keep straight, this will prevent that. With these changes the Boulevard 70 now has almost all the bells and whistles. I think the only thing it doesn't have is the 'click' safety indicator (when tightening it dings/clicks to let you know it's tight enough), and then the higher end models also have soft pads on the outside to protect other children/passengers next to the car seat.We were very happy with the previous version, and now this version just makes it that much better. Solidly built, great features. |
